Are You a Secret Fascist?

By Keith Sherwood

Is it true that, on the deepest levels, even people who are progressive are secretly fascists? In other words, do people who publicly embrace liberal ideas secretly love power, covertly try to control their environment, expect to be adored or regard other people as extensions of themselves, whose purpose is to serve their personal needs? To make matters worse, do these illiberal liberals project the fields that support these distorted patterns at their family members, friends and associates?

According to Wilhelm Reich, people living in patriarchal societies have buried within their soul and spirit deep seeded fascist patterns of control and domination that are fundamentally misogynistic.

According to Reich, the problem of fascism cannot be understood simply as a political movement or ideology. Fascism, he believed, “is as diffuse as the phenomenon of power itself.”

Reich was one of the first researchers to declare that fascism was a psychological condition endemic in patriarchal societies. He claimed that the sexual repression of children, in authoritarian societies, created fertile ground for social and political fascism to take root and mature. As he put it:

Suppression of the natural sexuality of the child, particularly of its genital sexuality, makes the child apprehensive, shy, obedient, afraid of authority, ‘good’ and ‘adjusted’ in the authoritarian sense; it paralyzes the rebellious forces because any rebellion is laden with anxiety… At first, the child has to adjust to the structure of the authoritarian miniature state, the family; this makes it capable of later subordination to the general authoritarian system. The formation of the authoritarian structure takes place through the anchoring of sexual inhibition and sexual anxiety.”

According to Reich, fascism is more than an ideology; it’s a world view rooted in the body, its desires and the patriarchal structure of the family.

It goes without saying that Reich’s views were deemed heretical by orthodox psychoanalysts in Europe. He was expelled from the International Psychoanalytic Association. Later, after moving to America, his work was once again denounced, and his books were subsequently burned. He was imprisoned in 1957 after violating an injunction against shipping Orgon Machines, by the Food and Drug Administration. He died the same year, at the age of sixty, at the Lewisburg Federal Penitentiary.

In 1983, Michel Foucault, a French philosopher and political activist observed that fascism is already present in everyday behavior; it’s the fascism deep within us “that causes us to love power, to desire the very thing that dominates and exploits us.”

In his work, Foucault shifted the focus, widespread at the time, from big political personalities (Hitler, Franco, etc.), movements and regimes of the early 20th century towards the shadowy impulses that endow people with the lust for power and domination.

Although Reich and Foucault recognized that fascistic tendencies were deeply embedded in people raised in patriarchal societies, until recently no one has recognized that the psychological need to control and dominate was rooted in the fields of consciousness, energy and etheric matter that constitute a person’s soul and spirit.

It’s All About the Subtle Field

On the level of soul, access to all forms of pleasure, including sexual pleasure, can be blocked, creating a need to control and dominate whenever the functions of the second and fifth chakras as well as the upper and lower etheric chakras have been disrupted by attachments and distorted fields of consciousness, energy and subtle matter. The same holds true on the level of spirit when the energy gate located at the perineum, the two energy gates located at the kidneys and the two cavities on each side of the lower abdomen, known as kwas, have been polluted and/or blocked.

Once pleasure centers on the subtle levels of soul and spirit have been blocked, the need to control and dominate will overwhelm life-affirming core values. The three forms of empathy – empathy for Universal Consciousness, one’s self and other people – will also be disrupted; so will the ability to form an authentic identity and attain personal autonomy.

Organs of the Subtle Field

It’s the chakras, on the levels of soul, that are responsible for regulating human activities in the non-physical universe. Energy gates and kwas as well as other subtle organs and cavities are responsible for regulating human activities on the level of spirit.

Most people mistakenly believe that the activities I’m referring to take place exclusively on the physical-material plane. Empathy, motivation and enthusiasm as well as human love and intimacy are examples of subtle interactions regulated by the chakras and energy gates.

Chakras and energy gates can regulate these activities because they provide the subtle field and physical-material body with life-affirming consciousness and energy. In addition, they link human beings to Universal Consciousness, the singularity from which everything in the physical and non-physical universe emerged. The individual functions of the chakras, energy gates and kwas are described in the following text.

Second Chakra: The second chakra is located four finger widths below the naval. It regulates vitality, gender identity (masculinity or femininity), creativity and physical (sexual) joy. If the chakra is blocked, you will experience anger, a loss of physical vitality and a need to control other people and your environment.

Fifth Chakra: The fifth chakra is located by your throat. It regulates all forms of human expression as well as enjoyment, perseverance and personal integrity. If the chakra is blocked, so will your experience of unconditional joy and your ability to express yourself freely.

Etheric Chakras: The etheric chakras are located on each side of your lower abdomen. They regulate your authentic feelings. There are hundreds of feelings that the two chakras regulate, ranging from comfort and satisfaction to fatigue and enthusiasm. If the functions of your etheric chakras have been disrupted, your ability to express your authentic feelings will be blocked.

Perineum Gate: Located between the genitals and the anus, the perineum energy gate is where consciousness and energy from your legs and the body meet on the level of spirit. Because of this, the perineum energy gate ensures that up-down polarity in both men and women remains balanced and that your spirituality is firmly grounded in physical reality.

Kidney Gates: The two kidney gates play an important role in regulating authentic spiritual feelings and maintaining the integrity of auric boundaries. They perform those services by providing the exceptional meridians with all the consciousness and energy they need to stay strong.

Kwas: The two Kwas are located on each side of your lower abdomen. The consciousness and energy they supply ensure that your sexual activities provide you with pleasure, love, intimacy and joy. They also support the lower Dantian, a larger reservoir that provides the energy and consciousness you need to perform life’s daily activities.
